• All water drains downhill and into our harbor, so stop trash and pollutants where they start by reading the previous sections relating to your home, lawn and garden. Lawns and fertilizers have a huge impact on water quality.

• For boaters, use your “head” responsibly. Pump-out facilities are located in Marblehead and Salem Harbors. In Marblehead Harbor and on the West Shore, you can hail the pump-out boat on VHF Channel 9.

• Use a fuel collar at the pump.

​

• Use eco-friendly cleaning products.

​

• Don’t send wastewater overboard. Mop up cleaning products and dispose of them on land.

• Fish out trash you see on the water and dispose of it properly. ​​
